This can be an error related to your PPPoE client. PPPoE is the authentication protocol favoured by DSL/ADSL providers. in the PPPoE client, you need to supply your username, password and desination authentication server IP (or name) in many cases.. Since it's a client, with drop down menu's many times customer will accidentally pick the wrong provider/authentication server from the drop down menu.. Doublecheck your settings in the client and give it a shot again.
